It performs conceptual and preliminary design of fixed-wing UAVs in DoD Groups 1-3, including lift+cruise VTOL aircraft. From a requirements file it sizes the aircraft in an integrated loop, evaluates performance, checks each requirement and writes a report.

No. MADETOOL produces conceptual/preliminary estimates from public methods. They are not validated, certified or flight-ready. See the engineering disclaimer.

No. When an AI provider is configured it only proposes values it can quote from your own text. Each proposed value must be confirmed by you, and anything you did not state stays TBD. Without an AI provider, a rule-based extractor and the structured editor are used, and the site says so.

MADETOOL's main.m, run by GNU Octave 8.4 in a background worker. If the solver is not installed or the worker is offline, the website tells you instead of queueing the run.

It depends on the case and the server. The MADETOOL project reports end-to-end sizing runs of several minutes in Octave. The run page shows the elapsed time, and each run has a time limit.
